From a quick blade sharpening to a complete engine overhaul, here’s what we handle.
Spring Start-Up Service
Get your mower ready for the first cut with a complete spring tune-up. We’ll sharpen the blades, change the oil, check belts and cables, and make sure your engine is running at peak performance. Starting the season with a well-maintained mower means fewer breakdowns and a better-looking lawn.
End-of-Season Winterization
Before winter storage, we’ll prepare your mower to prevent rust, fuel system issues, and costly spring repairs. Our winterization service includes cleaning the deck, treating or draining fuel, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting for wear so your mower is ready to go next season.
Don’t have a way to transport your equipment? We offer pickup and delivery for lawn mowers throughout the Greater Rochester area — including riding mowers and zero-turns.

The most common issue we see. Usually caused by a dirty carburetor, old fuel, a fouled spark plug, or a clogged air filter. We’ll clean or replace the problem components and have you starting on the first pull.
Almost always a dull, bent, or unbalanced blade. It can also be caused by a warped deck, uneven wheel height settings, or a worn spindle. We’ll sharpen or replace the blade and check the deck for damage.
A bent crankshaft, unbalanced blade, or loose blade adapter will cause heavy shaking. Don’t ignore this — continued use can damage the engine bearings and the deck. We’ll find and fix the source.
This rhythmic revving is usually a partially clogged carburetor, a dirty air filter, or a vacuum leak in the fuel system. A carb cleaning and tune-up typically solves it.
The drive belt, drive cable, or transmission may be worn. On some models, the drive wheels themselves wear out. We service all self-propel and hydrostatic drive systems.
Blue smoke usually means oil is burning (often from overfilling or a tipped mower). Black smoke points to a rich fuel mixture. White smoke can indicate a head gasket issue. We’ll diagnose the color and fix the cause.
Years of grass buildup and moisture take a toll. We clean and de-rust decks, patch minor damage, and can advise you on when a deck is too far gone and it’s time for a replacement.
For most homeowners mowing weekly, we recommend sharpening the blade at least once per season — ideally as part of your spring tune-up. If you hit rocks, roots, or debris, get it checked sooner. A dull blade tears grass instead of cutting it, which makes your lawn look brown and stressed.
Our standard tune-up includes blade sharpening, oil change, new spark plug, air filter replacement or cleaning, deck cleaning, cable and belt inspection, and a full test run. It’s everything your mower needs to start the season strong.
It depends on the mower and the repair. A $150 carburetor rebuild on a quality Honda or Toro is usually worth it — those machines can run for 15+ years. But a major engine repair on a budget mower that’s already 8 years old? Probably time for a new one. We’ll always give you an honest assessment.
Yes. We work on push mowers, self-propelled walk-behinds, riding tractors, and zero-turn mowers. For riding mowers and zero-turns that are hard to transport, ask about our pickup and delivery service.
After your last mow of the season — usually late October or November in Rochester. The biggest thing is fuel: either run the tank dry or add stabilizer. Ethanol-blended gas left sitting over the winter is the #1 cause of hard starting and carburetor problems we see in the spring.
